MOKOPANE – Human remains have been found next to river outside Mahwelereng, says the police.
Residents in the area discovered the remains lying next to Mogalakwena river in the Waterberg Mountains on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe a brown jacket, pair of black boots and a pair of short brown trousers were recovered near the remains.
“No skull was found on the scene.”
The cause of death and the identity of the deceased are still unknown and will form part of a police investigation, adds Ngoepe.
