Self taught musician keeps goals in sight

With vision in only one eye, Tshepo Tsebe (27) believes that when he becomes well known for his talent, people will forget about his eye.

MOKOPANE – He started playing acoustic and electric guitar in 2012 and has already started performing in his church, Church of the First Born, every Sunday.

He said that his school years where he grew up in Mokopane, was somewhat difficult given the fact that his right eye has been blind since he was seven years old.

Tsebe laughed when saying that he loves music and even at a young age he created his own instruments with tins and cans.

“Children sometimes teased me, but I got used to it and it didn’t bother me, or them, anymore.”

He said he can see just as good with his one eye as someone with two. “It was hard in the beginning to play guitar but my fingers learned the trick after many hours of practice.” Jazz and blues are his favorite genres.

Tsebe gives guitar lessons on Saturdays, if you are interested, contact him at 071 317 2171.
