LIMPOPO – Kruger National Park Management has honoured CV journalist Orlando Chauke for his “diverse style in the writing of Kruger National Park stories with particular focus on the tourism and conservation development in the northern part of the park (Phalaborwa gate to Punda Maria side)”.
“Over the past years, Orlando has continued to produce positive articles about the park, and has also helped in the publicising of KNP products which were less known to the local communities,” said the park’s Managing Executive, Glenn Phillips.
Asked what the Award of Appreciation meant to him, Orlando said it was a satisfying feeling.

“It feels really good to know that there are people out there who recognise your work, more so as it came as a surprise. I never thought that somebody was scrutinising my articles. I thought I was just doing my job.”
This is his second award in the journalism field for him after he scooped The Citizen award at the Caxton 25th Excellence Awards in Johannesburg in 2014.

The award was for best contributor of community stories to both CV and The Citizen.
