The South African National Blood Service is urging people to donate blood
POLOKWANE – Blood can be donated at any of the blood clinics in the province as well as at mobile clinics.
Blood is given to:
- Women who suffer severe bleeding as a complication of pregnancy and delivery.
- Patients undergoing surgical operations
- Patients with cancer
- Patients with severe anaemia
- Accident victims
You can donate on the following days in various areas in Polokwane:
If you are between the ages of 16 and 65, weigh more than 50kg and lead a low risk lifestyle, you can register at any clinic or the SANBS offices in Potgieter Avenue.
By law you may only donate every 56 days. This is to ensure that you have had enough time to regenerate the red cells from your last donation.
