Young jazz enthusiast ready to take on the music world
He taught himself to play the piano but his angelic voice is a natural gift and now, Kgothatso Tabane aims to take the music industry by storm.
POLOKWANE – The 20-year-old matric pupil at Flora Park Comprehensive High School says he’s been involved in music since the age of six.
“What motivated me to sing from a young age is because I grew up in the church and my parents encouraged me to participate in church activities, from Sunday school to the Youth Committee and now finally I am part of the worship team where I help with the singing and playing of music instruments,” he explains.
The aspiring musician says he enjoys performing at weddings, stating it’s a bonus that he earns money doing what he loves. His favourite genre is jazz as he finds it relaxing and he just loves jazz artist Gregory Potter.
Kgothatso he plans to study a media related course and pursue a career in the music/media industry. He wants to be as successful as his idol, Proverb whose music Kgothatso says, is inspirational.
