A slithery friend causes a fire
A snake apparently led to the burning of an outbuilding in Hooge Street on Friday.
MOKOPANE – Hendrik Mothada (58) a gardener, almost burned down an entire outbuilding when he wanted to kill a snake. “I was burning grass next to the outbuilding when I saw a snake”, he said.
Mothada said when he saw the snake he ran to the main house to grab something to kill the animal. “When I returned the outbuilding had caught fire. The owner of the house immediately called for assistance and the Mokopane Fire Department came to the rescue.”
No damage was done to the inside of the outbuilding. The owner explained with a smile that he is not angry at Mothada.
