[WARNING: Graphic Images] Four women arrested for possession of Lion parts in Tubatse

The women will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate Court soon.

LIMPOPO – Police spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says a police operation was conducted in the Tubatse policing area, outside Burgersfort in which four women were arrested.

The women, between the ages of 29 and 48-years-old, were found in possession of the body parts of two lions in Praktiseer on Wednesday, 17 May.

“The suspects come from different areas in Limpopo, including Tubatse, Lebowakgomo, Phalaborwa and Venda,” Ngoepe says.

The following Lion parts were found:
– Two lion heads.
– Eight lion paws.
– Two lion skins.

“The motive and the origin of these parts is still unknown, however, police investigations will continue,” Ngoepe concluded.
