Mediclinic Limpopo’s best in the field acknowledged

On 12 May, International Nurses Day, Mediclinic Limpopo took the opportunity to recognise nurses for the dedicated work that they do on a daily basis.

POLOKWANE – The day was kicked off by the reading of the nurses oath,a pledge to always put their patients first, and a motivational speech and presentation by Nursing Manager, Matlou Sathekge.

12 May is also the birth date of Florence Nightingale and allows medical facilities to celebrates the work done by nurses.

Mooletsi Kgwadi was acknowledged by Mediclinic Limpopo as the recipient of the Mediclinic Nursing Excellence Award. This is in recognition of the dedication she invests into caring for her patients as well as supporting her colleagues at work.

She has been with Mediclinic Limpopo for the past nine years and works in the obstetrics unit.

Kgwadi was nominated for the award because she always puts her patients first, working gently with them. She is a great team player and is very flexible, she also performs well under pressure and is very compassionate.

During the ceremony she was praised for being very responsible and vigilant. She was also cited as a true example for the profession and there has never been any negative feedback regarding her work.

“While we take the time to recognise an individual nurse at each of our hospitals, I believe it is important to take the time to thank each nurse in our hospitals for the individual contribution to quality patient care,” Patient Experience Manager, Istha McMillan said.

Kgwadi said that the award means a lot to her as it shows that hard work does not go unnoticed. After the event the nurses were treated with a gift bag and something tasty to eat.
