NOTICE: Possible water shortage to be expected in high lying areas

Residents are urged to use water sparingly during this period

POLOKWANE – The public are hereby notified of low water pressure or no water in certain parts of the city.

According to a statement issued by the Polokwane Municipality,  Lepelle Northern Water has notified the municipality that the Olifantspoort Plant is currently operating at low capacity due to the poor raw quality of water that has to be processed at the plant.

“Normally, this happens when there is heavy rain and the water in the river have high levels of mud. As a result some of the areas in the high catchment may be affected as  less water is received from the source,” reads the statement.

Residents are advised to use water sparingly to avoid reservoirs being negatively affected.

Areas that may get affected are advised to call the municipality on 0152902376 / 2473 for assistance.
