Seven arrested outside Polokwane for multiple offenses

The arrests formed part of a clean-up operation by Limpopo SAPS

LIMPOPO – The seven suspects aged between 21 and 34-years-old were arrested for business robberies, carjacking and murder.

During the arrest, the following items were recovered:

– Two firearms

– Two magazines.

– Fourty seven, 9mm live rounds of ammunition.

– One gas pistol.

– 70 sachets of Skunk Dagga with an estimated street value of R3 500.

– Cash amounting to R240.

In addition, three suspects aged between 23 and 34-years-old were arrested in Lebowakgomo, for various offences ranging from possession of dagga, possession of suspected stolen properties and armed robbery.

Police spokesperson Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says four bulletproof vests and a hunting rife were recovered during the arrest.

“In addition, we also confiscated dagga to the estimated street value of R20 000 as well as R10 550 in cash,” he said.

In Lephalale, 21 suspects between the ages of 23 and 32-years-old were arrested for various offences ranging from illegal immigration, burglary, to possession of dagga.

During the operation, the following items were recovered:

– 27 packs of dagga valued at R1000.

– One cell phone and car keys.

– 148 sachets of dagga and 5 litres of dagga to the estimated street value of R6500

– Various counterfeit goods to the estimated street value of R4 500.

– 25 litres of dagga with an estimated street value of R14 000.

Meanwhile, in Modimolle, a 31-year-old man was arrested for possession of drugs in which 25 sachets of nyapoe, valued at R1000, was recovered.

The Intelligent-Led-Joint-Clean-Up-Operations are still continuing to clean all the criminals from the streets through out the Province.

These operations are up and running for twenty four hours composed of a variety of Police Units.

In addition, another 31-year-old man was arrested in Dennilton, outside Groblesdal, for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

“During the arrest, three hunting rifles (308 ,2x 202) and four live rounds of ammunition were recovered,” says Ngoepe.

In Mankweng, Thabazimbi, Makhado, Bela-Bela and Thohoyandou, 10 suspects aged between 23 and 47-years-old were arrested for various offences ranging from burglary, armed robbery and  possession dagga.

Three cell phones and two suspected stolen cars were recovered.

Ngoepe says these operations are aimed at eradicating criminals from the streets throughout the province.

“The arrested suspects during these operations will appear before different Magistrate Courts soon and police will continue to investigate,” he concluded.
