[NEWSFLASH] Pipeline burst causes havoc in lower CBD

Residents in surrounding areas are warned of water cuts until further notice.

POLOKWANE – Residents and businesses in downtown CBD, Rainbow Park, Nirvana, Westenburg and some of the Extension settlements will be without water as a result of a mainline pipe burst in town last night.

Polokwane Municipality says the line suffered multiple bursts.

“Due to the flow pressure in the line, it took a while for the water to be stopped as the valves had to be closed so repairs could resume. One point has been fixed and the other point is being worked on,” says the municipality.

It says the line is set to be repaired in the next few hours and water will be restored.

The municipality says it will work around the clock to ensure that water is restored and apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Water issues can be reported at 0152902376.
