Body discovered floating in Giyani dam

LIMPOPO – The SAPS Search and Rescue Unit retrieved the body of a middle aged man in the Middle Letaba Dam near Giyani on Monday, says the police.

A passerby made the discovery and alerted the authorities, said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

The identity of the deceased is still unknown and a post mortem will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death, he added.

“Anyone who can assist in the identification of the deceased, may go to Hlanganani Police Station and ask to speak to Warrant Officer Steven Makhubela.”

Police investigations continue, concluded Ngoepe.
