POLOKWANE -Despite all the satisfying improvements, the department continues to call on water users to avoid wasting water and adhere to water restrictions imposed by the Polokwane Municipality.

The province’s collective levels, at this time last year, were at 61,4% whereas this year they are at 78,3%.
Looking at the summary of Water Management Area (WMA) for Limpopo, last year this time was at 67,8% whereas now we are at 90,5%, with Olifants WMA this year at 73,5% compared to last year’s 56,5%.

- The Polokwane Water Supply Systems was at 52, 2% this time last year. The system was measured at 65, 2% last week but increased to 65, 3% this week.
- The Luvuvhu Water Supply Systems was at 66, 0% this time last year. The system was measured at 99, 3% last week, but dropped to 99, 1% this week.

The Department says that in relation to the provincial storage, the situation has slightly improved but the province still needs to continue to implement water restrictions to allow for smooth recovery.
