SAPS deployed to Vuwani following more unrest

Police say they will continue to monitor the situation until normality returns.

LIMPOPO -Four cars were damaged over night in the area by people throwing stones from the bushes near Masakona village.

Police spokesperson Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says cases of malicious damage to property were opened, however, no arrests have been made.

“Motorists are advised to drive with caution, especially during the night, as to avoid stones being thrown on their cars,” Ngoepe warned.

He said if such incidents do take place, the police must be contacted immediately.

This follows ongoing unrest in the area.

The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has advised the community to put their children’s future first by allowing them to go to school without any hindrance.

The General has also warned any member of the community who engages in any form of illegal activity that the police will deal with them mercilessly and without compromise.
