Man shot and killed after argument at tavern outside Polokwane

The Police in Botlokwa outside Polokwane have arrested a suspect for the alleged murder of a 32-year-old man at Sefene Village.

LIMPOPO – It is alleged that the deceased was shot during an argument with the suspect (30) at a local tavern. “The suspect allegedly produced a firearm and shot the deceased several times, killing him instantly,” said Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

He added that the deceased has been as identified as Lucky Monyemangena from Sefene Village.

“The Provincial Commissioner LT. General Nneke Ledwaba has warned all the legal firearms owners that carrying of a firearm while going to the liquor outlets is a serious transgression of the South African Firearms Control Act and it is seriously punishable by the law and your license will immediately be cancelled for ever.”

The suspect will appear before Morebeng Magistrate Court on Tuesday 18 April on a charge of murder.

Police investigations are still continuing.
