Vehicle hits tree, catches fire on R33

Police appeal to anyone who can identify the occupant(s) of the vehicle to contact the Groblersdal Police Station.

LIMPOPO – The Police in Groblersdal are investigating a case of culpable homicide following an accident along the R33 between Grobersdal and Marble Hall at about 03:30 this morning (Friday).

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, it is alleged that the vehicle hit a Marula tree on the edge of the road and caught fire with the occupant(s) still inside.

“The cause of this accident is still unknown and the number of occupants in the vehicle and their identities is still unknown.’

The burnt car is a Hyundai 1.20 and anyone who can assist in the identification of the deceased, may contact the Groblesdal Police Station.

Police investigations are still continuing.
