H&M brings high fashion to Limpopo

The new store at Mall of the North is the first H&M in Limpopo.

POLOKWANE – Hundreds of eager fashionistas lined up at Mall of the North on Saturday as the popular Swedish chain store opened its doors for the first time in the province.

H&M and its associated brands currently operate in 62 countries with over 4,000 stores world wide.

Standing in line for four hours did not spoil the mood as people waited to have a look at the 11th store of its kind in South Africa.

Review spoke to some of the people in line to hear what they think about the store, which promises excellent service and great new products for both style and budget.

Marvellous Muyambu, Kganyisane Muyambu, Grace Mopengo, Lulamo Mapengo and Kgensani Mapengo wait in line for the new H&M store to open at Mall of the North. They say that now that the new store has opened, they will be spending more time at the mall. “We love the prices and the great variety that the store brings,” they told Review.

 

Phalatema, Pheladi and Rorisang Mokgoloa were eager for the new H&M store at Mall of the North to open.
“Being a part of something as big as the opening of this kind of store is something that makes amazing memories. We love being here, shopping at Mall of he North. We make a day of it, eat something and go shopping and sometimes we get the opportunity to be a part of something special like this,” they told Review.
Thea, Thea-Liza, Terrens and Graig van Wyk say they will be supporting the new H&M store at the Mall of the North because it means family time. “The store is a favorite of our family and we spend a lot of time shopping. What this store brings is something that all of us can enjoy while coming to shop together,” they told Review.
Armand Potgieter, Yonela Ponco and Itumeleng Mothapo had been waiting in line for over three hours for the new H&M store to open at Mall of the North. “We do not care about the waiting because this store is the first in Limpopo and this means that we are a part of the making of Polokwane and Limpopo history. There is no way that we would miss this for the world,” they told Review.

The store was officially opened by the store manager Salthiel Khomola and H&M’s company controller Jens Gutestam who flew in from Sweden to cut the ribbon.

H&M boasts a wide variety of fashion, accessories and shoes at affordable prices and it situated on the top floor of Mall of the North.

Shoppers waiting in line were also entertained by Dj Complexion from Capricorn FM who showcased his talent on the decks.
