WATCH: Little queen flies SA flag high in Bulgaria

Rebotile Letshedi, a Polokwane pageant queen, was recently crowned Little Miss Galaxy 2017 in Bulgaria.

She also won an award for best interview at the event.

This Grade 5 learner is one of the founders of the Sisters for Life Charity Campaign which focuses on child-headed households, and attends school at Curro Heuwelkruin Independent School. She is the top ballet dancer and part of the cheer-leading squad at the school.

Rebotile won the Little Miss Galaxy SA crown, which led to her representing the country in Bulgaria last month.  Along with three other contestants from South Africa and her mother, Rebotile left for Europe on 12 March and only returned after the competition was concluded more than a week later, on 22 March.

Her mother, Tebogo Letshedi, says Rebotile reads serious books and she has also downloaded the eNews Channel Africa (ENCA) cellphone app. “She surprises me every time,” says Tebogo.
“The experience in Bulgaria was fun, exciting and nerve wracking at the same time because the stage was completely different and obviously bigger compared to South Africa’s, and the crowd was much bigger too, but I was doing fine as I have rehearsed a lot before the actual pageant,” says Rebotile said.

Rebotile says there are a few people who are jealous of her, especially because she has won so many titles, but says she has friends who encourage and support her no matter what.
