A woman, who works in the CBD, shared her experience with Review on how the building she works in had to be evacuated.

The woman asked to remain anonymous as she is not mandated to speak to the media.

Protesters are going to each and every building and intimidating opened shops. Checkers had to close its main entrance into the buildings as shops closed their doors. As I was sitting at my desk, the building safety officer announced over the intercom that we must evacuate the building immediately and those who park there must remove all vehicles immediately. They got news that the protesters are downtown shutting down shops and would come back to our side (Landdros and Schoeman).

We rushed out and some of us park at Checkers. We had to enter the covered parking via the ramp as the entrances were locked.

Seshego colleagues can’t go home. Roads are blocked.
