According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the police received information that Tshirunzanani Primary School was on fire. “The team reacted swiftly and found that built-in cupboard in the administrative block was on fire.
The books within the cupboard has been set alight as well as books in the other block of classrooms which was used as a storeroom.
The school building was not burned, he added.
The motive and suspects are unknown and there is no arrest. Police investigations continue.
This was an isolated event and the situation in that area is relatively quite at this stage.
