Sport, Arts and Culture MEC, Onicca Moloi, applauded the majority of Limpopo residents for shunning the demons of xenophobia, ethnicity, and racism.
POLOKWANE – She outlined the progress made by the department in bettering sport, art, and culture in the province and outlined what plans await the province in the future when she tabled the department’s 2017/2018 budget, recently.
The department’s budget for the following financial year equals R460.2 million.
She added since library books became a requirement to be recorded as part of the asset register, the department has continuously received a qualified audit opinion from the Auditor General for the past five years. One of the department’s success stories involve the Mapungubwe Heritage Festival craft exhibition.
Within theater, Moloi stated that the Multi-Purpose Performing Arts Centre is moving in the right direction.
“For the 2017/18 financial year, R9,9 million has been set aside to kick-start the project,” she added. Moloi thanked her predecessor and colleague, MEC Nandi Ndalane, for zealously leading the efforts to have this Multi-Purpose Performing Arts Centre in Limpopo.
