Tremor felt throughout Limpopo
Social media sites and local Whatsapp groups are abuzz with residents sharing their experience.
POLOKWANE – At approximately 19:30 this evening (Monday), several people took to social media to report that they felt earth tremors across Limpopo, even as far as Botswana.

According to reports the tremor was caused by seismic activity following an earthquake recorded in Botswana and was felt as far from Bela Bela through to Musina.
A 6.8 earthquake was recorded in Ghanzi, Botswana around 20 minutes ago

Several people on Facebook reported that the tremor lasted for more than 60 seconds.
Tersia Van der Merwe and Retha Holder, both from the Soetdorings Doornbult area, said they felt it. Holder says the tremor carried on for a few minutes. “The glass pane in our glass door almost fell out.”
Nthabiseng Kgatla says she felt nothing but “I think Zuma is reshuffling the provinces.”
Thabiso Robson Kekana says the “shacks were vibrating and the rats were screaming in Polokwane – Disteneng”.
Hendrien Corolina Delange who stays outside of Polokwane on a farm also felt the tremor.
Doreen Hill from Penina Park says she felt it…sitting on the couch…thought I had a funny turn felt the couch moving?vibrating? Weird sensation
