Suspected Rhino poachers and stock thieves arrested

Limpopo SAPS members continue to make a tremendous impact in the fight against crime through out the province

LIMPOPO- Two suspects (aged 28 and 47 years old respectively) were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm in Bela Bela and the following items were seized:
– One white Toyota.

– One 375 hunting rifle with a serial number.

-One butcher knife all with an estimated value of R100 000.

Police spokesperson Lt Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says the suspects are believed to be involved with rhino poaching in and around Lephalale.

“The suspects will be appearing before the Lephalale Magistrate Court soon and police investigations are still continuing,” said Ngoepe.

Meanwhile, in Giyani, a 36-year-old man was arrested at Xikukwani village for stock theft and one stolen, slaughtered goat valued at R700 was recovered.

“The suspect will appear before the Giyani Magistrates Court soon and police investigations are still continuing,” he concluded.
