UPDATE: Police in Polokwane have launched a manhunt for the suspects who were involved in the unrest and malicious damage to property this morning.
Police Spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the unrest emanates from conflict between two rival groups and says the motive behind it is still unknown.
“There have been no arrests made as yet and police investigations are still continuing,” he said.
Ngoepe says SAPS management intends to increase efforts to eradicate serious and violent crimes in all communities.
“It is against this background that we will go all out to hunt people responsible for these latest acts of violence. Members of the Community are therefore requested to remain calm and assist the police to arrest all suspects involved in this unrest,” concluded Ngoepe.
