Help us identify issues within the city – Polokwane muni
The municipality is calling on residents to have a look around their areas and if they identify any issues, to report them to the municipality.
WATCH: Review recently visited a busy street in the city to find out what kind of municipal issues residents, business people and commuters face on a daily basis. This is what we came across.
The city’s public pool, several health and medical establishments and the entrance to a school are all situated on Burger Street. After an inspection of a mere six blocks, Review discovered a number of issues that impact daily commutes. Some of these include damaged or missing traffic signs, open manholes and copious amounts of litter.
Polokwane Municipal Spokesperson, Matshidiso Mothapo, told Review the municipality loses no less than R4 million a year to vandalism. According to Mothapo, these funds could have been spent on painting or repairing and replacing traffic signs but instead, it is used to replace stolen and vandalised municipal property.
