Taxi owner shot and killed in Bolobedu

Police in Tzaneen have launched a manhunt for the suspects.

LIMPOPO – The taxi owner was killed at around 03:00 this morning, 19 March at Ga-Matshwi village.

It is alleged that a 37-year-old man, who is a taxi owner of the Long Distance Taxi Association, operating between Bolobedu and Gauteng, was attacked, shot and killed while entering the yard of his home.

The deceased was identified as Lucas “Sheleni” Mashale of 37 years of age.

Police spokesperson LT Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but says that taxi violence cannot be ruled out.

“Police investigations are still continuing,” he concluded
