After one year in the Polokwane market, Bo Baas Meat Market has become well known for its speciality meat dishes and choice cuts.
Owner Hermien Myburgh says that the business had experienced many highlights and disappointments, but that the road ahead looks promising and that she has a lot of confidence in her company and personnel.
The anniversary also brought some changes with it including newly appointed butcher, Ulrich Vlaming whom Myburgh says is a very competent and talented butcher.
New products that proved to be very popular include the Bo Baas Pork Belly as well as the spinach and feta chicken sausages.
Customers also stick to the old favourites like whole deboned chicken, stuffed and deboned chicken thighs, Spiderman Steaks, aged steaks well spiced and wrapped in caul fat, and a wide variety of boerewors and sausages. “Our wors and sausages are so popular because we do not use any soy or other meat alternatives at Bo Baas Meat Market. Our peach boerewors and chutney boerewors are especially well-liked,” Myburgh says.
She is also excited about the prospects that the hunting season that will be starting soon, will bring. “We handle all venison processing and are licensed to sell meat sourced from hunting farms in Limpopo, making sure that no poached meat will ever be sold at Bo Baas.”
Myburgh thanked all her loyal customers for their support and inputs. “With my team on my side and our customers behind us, the future looks rosy,” she concluded.
