Manhunt for killers of Thohoyandou taxi owner

It is alleged that the deceased was in the company of his wife and a 16-year-old child when he was shot

LIMPOPO – The Police in Mphephu outside Thohoyandou have launched a massive manhunt for the suspects who shot and killed a taxi owner yesterday.

This according to a statement issued by LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe. It is alleged that the deceased, who was in the company of his wife and a 16-year-old child, was parking his car at Nzhelele Spar when two unknown male suspects opened fire on them. The deceased, his wife and daughter were still inside the car when a bullet struck the deceased, who is in his fifties, killing him instantly.

His wife sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for medical treatment. Their daughter was not injured.

The motive behind this incident is still unknown but taxi violence cannot be ruled out.

The suspects are still unknown and no arrests have been made. Police investigations continue.
