Bogus cardiologist pleads guilty to all charges

POLOKWANE – 19-year-old Maria Lebo Mokgobu has pleaded guilty to all charges, says the Hawks.
Mokgobu was arrested by the Hawks at the Department of Health offices on 8 June 2016, when she attended interviews for the position of cardiologist.
She faces charges of fraud, forgery, and altering medical qualifications for the purpose of gaining employment.
She appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court Today (Thursday) and her case was postponed to 4 April for pre-sentencing, said Hawks Spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke.
She is currently out on R5 000 bail.
