Wiers case postponed again

The case has brought the community together in collectively wanting justice for Tanya Wiers murder.

POLOKWANE – Frans Maela’s bail hearing was postponed in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court today. He is set to reappear on 28 February.

The accused was remanded in custody.


POLOKWANE – The accused in the Tanya Wiers (44) murder case, Frans Maela, will appear before the Polokwane Magistrates court today, Tuesday, 21 February.

The case has brought the community together in collectively wanting justice for her murder. This has resulted in crowds gathering outside the court.

Wiers was murdered on 6 February in her home in Eduan Park where her bloodied body was discovered by her son Rolf on returning home from school. She was lying in one of the rooms naked with multiple stab wounds to the neck and under the chin. Both of her eyes had been removed with a sharp object.
