7 highly wanted criminals arrested during police ops

An intelligence driven joint sting-operation conducted in the province at the weekend led to the arrest of seven suspects on the police wanted list.

LIMPOPO – According to a statement issued by LT. Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe, two suspects aged 17 and 23 were arrested in Namakgale outside Phalaborwa, for a series of burglaries.

The following stolen items were recovered: 1 x computer, 1 x 55cm plasma TV, 1 x 32cm Samsung flat screen TV, 3 x Samsung speakers, groceries and shoes.

Meanwhile in Thohoyandou, three suspects aged 20, 38 and 23 were arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and suspected stolen property.

The following items were recovered: 1 x rifle with four rounds of live ammunition, 1 x jungle knife, 2 x kids deep freezer, 1 x hotplate, 1x microwave, 12 x cellphones, 1 x digital camera, 1 x drill machine, 2 x office chairs, 2 x hair clippers, 2 x USB’s, 1 x small hammer, 1 x bulb touch, 3 x blankets, 1 x duvet, 1 x Extension cable, 1 x bath bowel, 2 x passports and 4 x school bags.

In Sebayeng near Mankweng outside Polokwane, a 33-year-old man was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm as one revolver pistol with the serial number filed off in a holster was found hidden inside a mattress in his bedroom.

The firearm was identified as that of an on-duty security officer from Mankweng, stolen in a business robbery last year.

In Thabazimbi, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Regorogile Ext 3 for possession of suspected stolen property, the following items were recovered: 1 x pistol, 1 x blue inventor, 1 x sensor with an LED bulk light.

All the suspects arrested in the operation will appear before various Magistrate Courts soon and police investigations are ongoing.
