Kidnappers face a landslide of charges

The trio accused of kidnapping Anisah Moosa have used their time out on bail, to go out on a crime-committing spree, according to Maluleke.

LIMPOPO- Samuel Kubo (29), Elias Masilo Gafane (34) and Nyambeni Benny Mudau (35), the three men who stand accused of the kidnapping of Anisah Moosa have used their time out on R10 000 bail each, to go out on a crime-committing spree.

According to provincial Hawks Spokesperson, Captain Matimba Maluleke, the trio have committed crimes such as murder, attempted murder, attempted cash-in-transit and kidnapping, among others.

“The trio were supposed to have appeared in the Mankweng Regional Court on 18 January 2017 to face charges kidnapping, robbery under aggravating circumstances and attempted murder but only Mudau showed. A warrant of arrest was subsequently issued against Kubo and Gafane and their case was scheduled for Tuesday, 07 February 2017,” explains Maluleke.

A manhunt of the duo led the police to the Jane Furse police station where Gafane was detained for attempted cash-in-transit robbery, possession of suspected stolen vehicle and possession of unlicensed firearm, which he committed while on bail.

Further investigation led the Hawks to Mmakau police station in the North West where Kubo was found to have been detained following his arrest on cases of murder, attempted murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, two counts of kidnapping and possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

This is not the first time that Kubo and Mudau have been arrested, following the kidnapping.
