Planned water shutdown in Polokwane

The shut off is expected tomorrow. Manyane says consumers are urged to use water sparingly during this time.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality has warned residents that Lepelle Northern Water will have a shut-off of a bulk pipe from Olifantspoort Scheme due to constructor’s redirecting the direction of bulk pipe.

The pipe line is on the new road being constructed and compelled the bulk pipe to be redirected.

Municipal Spokesperson Disree Manyane says the shutoff is scheduled for tomorrow, 08 February 2017, and the process will take more than 12 hours.

“This will lead to water being stopped coming into Polokwane Municipality from Olifantspoort Scheme,” she says.

Manyane says consumers are urged to use water sparingly during this shut-off.

“Residents are also encouraged to report any water related issues to the municipality by calling 015 290 2376 during working hours or 015 290 2000 after hours.”
