Elica learners on technology in the classroom

Using tablets in the classroom has become a norm for many schools these days. Learners at Elica Primary School give their thoughts on making use of tablets in class.

POLOKWANE – Review  recently visited Elica Primary School to find out how the children feel about using tablets at school.

We spoke to Gr 4 and Gr 5 learners and received interesting answers from the learners.

Keratilwe Sepuru (Gr 4) says she loves the tablet idea because she can go to school with less books.

Left: Nadine Henning (Gr 4) said “I enjoy coming with my tablet to school because I can get a hold of my books quite quickly, without even struggling to find the pages for the answers.”

Right: Belle Gamede said her Mom was quite worried that she will play and not use the tablet for what it is intended for, to work on. “When she saw my test marks, she changed her mind,” she said.

Reabetswe Modikwane (Gr 4) said “I love the tablet because we don’t only get answers from them, but we also learn a lot of things with all the books we have on the tablets.

Kamogelo Makwela (Gr 5) said having the tablets is teaching them to be responsible.

“When we used to have books, we were not this extra careful about losing them. But with tablets, we are extra careful because it is not easy for our parents to replace them,” she said.
