[VOX POPS] Dikgale residents raise road maintenance issues

Residents in Dikgale are unhappy with the state of the roads in their community.

POLOKWANE -The roads which are maintained by the Polokwane Municipality are full of ditches and rocks and motorists say the roads are so bad that it causes damage to their vehicles. It is even worse on rainy days because some vehicles get stuck in the mud and the ditches are filled with water when it rains and are not visible causing serious damage to vehicles.

Here are video clips of motorists who use the roads daily. NOTE: these video clips are in Sepedi. An English translation has been added below each.

Rufus Rakgole – When it rains the road is full of water and makes it difficult for motorists. He suggests that the Polokwane Municipality erect a bridge so that the water can go underneath and the road will be clear.

Ernest Monyepao – The road is so bad that taxis don’t want to use them and this makes it difficult for commuters.

Leah Mohlapamaswi  is not pleased with the bad state of the road because her vehicle is being damaged.
