Alldays lion killing case in court

[NOT FOR SENSITIVE VIEWERS] The Police are still looking for three suspects who managed to evade the police

LIMPOPO – Tebogo Bale (31) arrested yesterday in connection with the killing of a white lion appeared before the Bochum Magistrate’s Court at Senwabarwana today (Thursday).

The incident in question happened at at Ingogo Safari Game Farm on Tuesday.

According to says spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the case has been remanded to 9 February for a formal bail application. The other three suspects who evaded arrest are still at large.

Police investigations continue.

LIMPOPO – A suspect has been arrested in connection with the killing of a white lion at Ingogo Safaris Game Lodge near Alldays, says the police.

“All four paws and the lion’s head were recovered during the arrest,” says spokesperson Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.

He added that the police are still looking for three more suspects who managed to evade the police during the arrest.

The suspect, aged 31-years-old, will appear in court soon and more arrests are expected.

Anyone with information is requested to contact their nearest police station.

LIMPOPO – According to spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the suspect(s) also attempted to kill two other lions in the same enclosure.

“The lion was discovered yesterday morning (Tuesday) in the enclosure. The head and the paws has been removed.”

“The suspect(s) appear to have been disturbed as they also attempted to remove the skin but failed,” said Mojapelo.

He added that is is suspected that poisoned chicken meat was thrown into the enclosure with the three lions. The other two lions were  only incapacitated due to the effect of the poison, but the white one unfortunately died.”

A veterinarian was called to the scene to treat the surviving animals.

At this stage the suspect (s) are still at large and police investigations continue. Anyone with information is requested to contact the nearest police station.
