Seopa needs votes for NCRW

Daniel "Mokone" Seopa says through the support of his fans, he can take the award for best news reader home.

LIMPOPO – Radio Turf news reader, Daniel Mokone Seopa, is making big waves in the radio industry as he has been nominated for the first annual National Community Radio Week (NCRW) Awards.

The talented newsreader, who hails from Phetole village in Ga Matlala, has been nominated in the Best News Reader category and needs your votes to win.

Being nominated for the award is a big nod of appreciation for Seopa’s talent as he is only volunteering at Radio Turf as a news reader.

The University of Limpopo BA media studies graduate says working in radio has been his childhood dream.

“The Best News Reader award is important, not only to me but my listeners and the province as well. It represents all the hard work everyone has put in to growing community radio stations in Limpopo. With the help of everyones votes, I am confident that I wil win the award and be even more motivated to chase my dreams and be the best I can be in the industry,” says Seopa.

He dreams to make a big name for himself in the industry so that he can become a household name, join a public broadcaster, and ultimately start his own radio station.

“My journey thus far makes me feel excited about my job. It is only through hard work, dedication, and a passion for what I do that I have made it this far. With the support of my fans I am confident that this will simply be the start of my journey,” he adds.

“It is a blessing to be recognised for the good work I do and the NCRW Awards is a platform to show the world what we are capable of in Limpopo.”

The NCRW Awards is set to take place on 17 February in Bloemfontein.
