Municipality implements plan to beautify city

The Polokwane Municipality have launched a new project to beautify the city by establishing and maintaining landscapes at the entrances of the city

POLOKWANE – Many perceive landscaping as a beautiful form of art, and we tend to appreciate it especially when it is displayed in the public eye.

With this in mind, Disree Manyane, Stakeholder Relations Officer of the Polokwane Municipality says a new project has been launched to beautify the city by establishing and maintaining landscapes at the entrances of the city. She states the purpose of the project is to improve the community by making the city look beautiful and interesting.

Manyane continues, saying when residents drive to the city’s malls, schools or home from work, seeing the exquisite landscapes should make them experience a feeling of relief, and the city hopes to achieve this through their project.

“The name of the project is City Entrance and Beautification, and is budgeted for the current financial year (2016/17). The aim is to develop and upgrade our city entrances as part of working towards the Smart City vision,” Manyane said.

She explains that the project will be completed by the end of June this year.
