POLOKWANE – For Gr 8 learners, entering high school comes with many highlights but also a few challenges, one of these is making friends.
One way to do so is through a shared experience. The Representative Student Council (RCS) of Tom Naudé High School set off to help the Gr 8s do just that, as well as help them adjust to their new environment, by having them suffer together at Terminator Camp.
Their initiation started on Thursday with a visit to Tom Naudé’s grave, followed by various activities at the school, including a mud bath, an obstacle course and a cross country race. The purpose of the activities was to teach the learners the school’s traditions, anthem and the layout of the premises.
The Gr 8s then gathered for a sleepover on Friday and ended the first week of high school with a concert on Saturday.
