Pemps: First day of Gr 1

Hundreds of learners starting Gr 1 this morning, woke up with excitement and a yearning to learn more about the world around them.

As schools across the province and the country opened their gates for the 2017 academic year, the spotlight was placed on those putting on their brand new uniforms for the first time and beginning a 12 year journey of knowledge and adventure.

Review visited several schools in the city to capture the first day of school and although there were some tears, as expected, teachers welcomed their new students with warm smiles and open arms, ready to get the first day of school started.
