Three injured, one seriously, in R71 crash

The R71 road  was closed for more than a hour after after two vehicles collided head-on along the R71 road next Boyne Moria today (Friday).

LIMPOPO – According to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the collision between a sedan and a delivery vehicle took place on the bridge of the Mphogodiba river at around 16:00 today.

“The driver of the sedan was critically injured and had to be airlifted to hospital. Two people sustained serious injuries and were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital,” he said.

According to information, the driver of the delivery van, driving in the westerly direction, appeared to have lost control of the vehicle and went onto the opposite lane,  colliding head on with the other vehicle, explained Mojapelo.

“The road had to be closed for more than an hour to allow emergency services to clear the road.

The road is now open for traffic, he concluded.
