LIMPOPO – A man suspected of illegal hunting was arrested around Mudimeli Boas farm outside Louis Trichardt yesterday (Wednesday), says the police.
The arrest was made during a joint intelligence led operation, conducted by the Crime Intelligent together with Makhado K9 Unit, focusing on suspects involved in the recent spate of illegal wildlife poaching in the area, according to Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.
The 29-year-old man from Mudimeli village was found to be in possession of game meat, said Ngoepe.
He will appear before Louis Trichardt Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of game meat.
Police investigations are still continuing.
