Suspects choke up whereabouts of ‘stolen’ livestock

The suspects were caught by the Gedroogte village community

LIMPOPO – The Police in Magatle near Lebowakgomo with the help of a local community have arrested two alleged live stock thieves, says the police.

According to a statement issued by Police Spokesperson, Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe, the suspects aged 48 and 41-years-old were caught by the Gedroogte village community at around 20:00 on Monday. Before the police arrived on the scene the angry members assaulted the suspects… they tied plastic bags around the suspect heads ‘suffocating them’ and forced them to reveal the whereabouts of the alleged stolen livestock.

“The suspects led the police to a farm in the Emmerpan area where 36 heads of cattle and a several  goats were recovered,” said Ngoepe.

The suspects accus3wd of stealing live stock during the period of 2014 to 2016 will appear before the Lebowakgomo Magistrate Court soon.

Local owners are currently identifying their stock and police investigations continue.
