Keeping the spirit of Santa alive

If you're worried your kids will miss out on the joy of writing to Santa and leaving out cookies and milk for the big guy, read on!

Thanks to technology, children no longer run to their parents with questions, instead they source their answers from the internet. While this comes as a relief to some parents, it has others struggling to keep the magic of Santa Claus alive.

If you want to have your kids believe Santa is real for a little while longer, follow these guidelines:

  1. Catch Santa on video. It’s much easier to believe in something if there is proof that it exists.
  2. Do not use your own handwriting on the Christmas gift cards. If your child recognises your handwriting, the jig may be up.
  3. Don’t go gift shopping without your children. It doesn’t matter how sneaky you are, your children will notice if you sneak something into the trolley.
  4. Leave convincing evidence around for the children to find, whether it be footprints or half eaten cookies to prove Santa dropped off their gifts in person.
  5. Download fun apps for your phone on the play store. There are loads of fun apps to use on the play store which will make Santa more believable. One of these many apps includes a “Santa is calling” app which will make the children believe that Santa is truly communicating with you.
