LIMPOPO – Four people, including a police constable stationed at Nigel Police Station in the Eastrand, died when their Volkswagen Mini-bus overturned on the road between Tafelkop and Motetema at the Tafelkop mountain.
According to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the incident happened in the early hours of this morning. “The occupants of the said vehicle attempted to hijack another vehicle and in the process lost control and overturned, killing four males and seriously injuring two women,” he said.
Mojapelo confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed the minibus belongs to the police constable, who was driving at the time. “The other vehicle, a Volkswagen Polo was not involved in the accident but the owner proceeded straight to Motetema police station and opened a case of attempted hijacking,” he said.
