2nd suspect appears for double murder of young boys

A second suspect arrested in connection with the recent murder of two boys outside Ga-Chuene, Thokgoaneng, appeared before the Polokwane Magistrate's Court on Monday.

POLOKWANE –  The second accused, Daniel Makibane Mamabolo (37) was arrested at the weekend, according to Police Spokesperson Lt Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

“Mamabolo, who faces two charges of murder, was remanded in custody until 19 December to allow for further investigation,” Ngoepe confirmed.

“The first suspect, Chuene Lucas Madimetja (37),  a close family relative of one of the boys, was remanded in custody until 26 January,” he said.

Ngoepe added; “Madimetja was arrested together with three local sangomas following the discovery of  the bodies of the two boys, Petrus Shoka (7) and his friend, Samuel Ngobeni (10) on 1 December. The bodies were found by a passer-by who then reported the discovery to the police. They had sustained multiple head injuries.”

The three sangomas aged 25, 39 and 46 have since been released.
