Well over 6 000 bikers from across the continent who attended the annual Sapa Yopa Rally 2016 hosted in Polokwane over the weekend, marked the event as the biggest ever.
“I cannot describe the feeling and atmosphere that reigned over the rally. It was a major success with no accidents that I am aware off,” Sapa Yopa President Sarel Nong said.
The weekend started on Thursday with a gala dinner followed by bikers flocking to the city on Friday to attend the pre-party hosted at the Polokwane Showground. On Saturday organisers moved their annual mass ride from Seshego to Turfloop. “Construction on Nelson Mandela Drive towards Seshego was too much of a hazard for 6 000 bikers,” Nong said.
Sapa Yopa donated sanitary towels worth R85 000 to Capricorn District Municipality who will distribute it where most needed.
The event concluded with a massive party on Saturday evening with DJs performing.
