LIMPOPO – “It is with an absolute broken heart that we bring you the news of Jaco Jansen van Rensburg, who died in a light aircraft accident yesterday (Wednesday).”
These are the words from Facebook post on Limpopo Golf Union, after the wreck of the RV10 2-seater airplane was discovered in a ravine in the Rhenosterkloof, Mabula area, this morning (Thursday).
According to reports on a local WhatsApp group Jaco was reported missing yesterday after taking off from Zebula Golf Estate and Spa’s airstrip at around 11:00 yesterday en route to his farm in the Vaalwater area. A Rescue team (Oryx helicopter) was deployed from Pretoria to the area where the distress signal was activated. According to the rescue teams, the wreckage was found about 5km from the airstrip.
