Taxi man shot: suspect in court again

It is alleged that the suspect and the deceased were stationery at the traffic light behind the Seshego Police Station when the shooting occured

POLOKWANE – The 26-year-old taxi driver who was arrested in connection with the murder of another taxi driver in Seshego last Sunday will appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court today (Wednesday) for a formal bail application.

It is alleged that the suspect and the deceased were stationery at the traffic light behind the Seshego Police Station and, while waiting for the traffic light to change, the suspect got out of his vehicle and started assaulting the deceased. Thereafter he took out a firearm and shot the 25-year-old in the chest.

The victim was certified dead at the scene by paramedics and the suspect was arrested shortly after the incident. He was charged with murder and appeared before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court last Tuesday. The case was postponed for a formal bail application today (Wednesday).
