Taps run dry in Mokopane
Residents of Mokopane had to scurry to find water this morning as many have commented that their taps have run dry.
MOKOPANE – DA Councillor, Korny Dekker, explained the reason for the water shortage, stating: “The reason for the water shortage is only because of electrical problems at the water pumps at Doorndraai dam. The problem will not take long to resolve, but it will take a while to get the reservoir full.”
He strongly advised residents who still have running taps to use water sparingly.
“The problem will definitely be sorted out by tomorrow and water flow will be back to normal by then”, Dekker said.
Tips to save water:
Do not leave tap water running.
Do not water your garden until the water flow has been restored.
Be patient while the problem is being attended to.
